But I'm from Teran originally. I've lived in United States for almost 20 years. I haven't been able to go back. Obviously, if I do, the regime would arrest me and put me in jail. But I know Tehran and I look at the images and the videos and um sheer number of people is very it's very heartwarming to see how many people have come out, how many people has answered the crown prince's call and they're in the streets and they're chanting his name right now. By the way, I saw also that President Trump is going to meet Resa Palabi next week in Mara Lago. >> So, we don't know if he's going to meet. He actually talked to Fox News and said he might not meet with Resa Pali, but he said as the head of state, he doesn't think it's appropriate. We have to wait and see who's going to emerge from the ashes of this revolution in Iran. But as you know, President Trump can change his mind and these kind of meetings if they take place, they shouldn't take place in front of the cameras. >> I agree. What does the everyday reality looks like for ordinary citizens in Iran during this period? >> For us, we're really privileged since we living here in the United States. But I can tell you the the Iran currency has been free falling. people have been experiencing so much repression within the past 47 years. They're really afraid, taken back. They don't have the guns. The regime uh the regime thugs have the guns. And now that the President Trump has put up this threat, he's threatened the regime that if they shoot protesters, they're going to hit them hard. He's going to hit them hard. That has given the Iranian people a lot of hope. I want to ask you because you're covering Iran for a really long time. Do you really think this time it's going to happen that the regime is going to fall? >> This time around is very different. Iranian regime because of its incompetence, because of its foreign adventurism, because of the fact that they've been looting Iran's resources for more than four decades. There's always upheavalss happening in Iran. Every now and then there's a series of protests and then it's crushed and then after that another another we wait for another few years and then there's another upheaval. This time around it's different for many reason. Number one, we have a new president here in United States. President Trump has made it clear to Iranian regime that he wants their nuclear he wants their nuclear pro program to be dismantled and their missile program to be tanked and also that he wants them to stop exporting the Islamic revolution to other countries especially in the Middle East. Number two is the fact that the Iranian economy has been hit very hard. The currency is free falling. Right. >> So if you're an Iranian, you're average Iranian, your savings have been evaporated within the past 2 or 3 weeks. That creates a huge anger. And number three, I think uh is the fact that the crown prince obviously has been waiting for this moment. He had this interview with Sean Hannity couple of days ago. He said he's been trained for his whole life for this moment. They've been waiting. They've been planning. They've been talking to people inside Iran. He's been talking to his network of people. And obviously you can see the result today. Millions of people are on the streets. >> Do you think he's going to go back to Iran? >> He said he would. He clearly was asked by Sean Hannity and he said he's ready to go back to lead the last battles of this revolution. So not only willing to go back. He's itching to go back. I mean he comes from a military background as you probably know. He went to a military academy in in UK. He went to a military academy in United States. He wants to transition Iran from a repressive theocracy into a secular democracy. That's what he promised to do. And I believe that this is his chance right now. >> How do you think the day after will look like? >> I mean, being too hopeful in and out by itself would be dangerous. I don't think people in Iran are too hopeful that things would change immediately. Um there will be a lot of revenge obviously if the United States and Israel do not intervene. There will be a lot of revenge and ironically actually Israel and United States must be the last hope and resort for the mullas and IRGC. If they surrender to Israelis and Americans, they might have a chance to survive. at least they can expect a a fair trial in the United States or in Israel. But if they're captured by Iranian people, I see the a huge sense of resentment. There will be a lot of revenge. This has been going on, remember, for 47 years. People have lost members of family, their wealth, their use, their wellbeing.
